The third visit of
Chetham’s School to Lanercost Festival.
With many of the school’s pupils appearing
annually in the ‘BBC Young Musician of the Year’ competition, and
with their 12 year old trombonist, Peter Moore winning First Prize
in 2008, this delightful concert is a must for budding young
musicians, teachers and parents.

Open Class
An opportunity to perform in the beautiful setting of
Lanercost Priory. A programme of your choice will be assessed by the
distinguished adjudicator Gareth Green.
The following categories are
eligible: piano, strings, woodwind, brass, guitar, accordion, vocal.
There are two classes, one for fifteen years and under (programme up
to 10 minutes, guideline grade 5/6 standard) and one for nineteen
years and under (programme up to 12 minutes, guideline grade 7/8).
Accompanists Cilla Grant and Martin Johnson are available for
rehearsal and performance, if required.
Six prizes will be
awarded (three in each class) and the overall winner will receive
the title “Lanercost Young Musician of the Year”. Click on the link
